Man injured after cliff jumping incident

Published:

Paramedics say a 28-year-old man from Hull is in serious but stable condition in hospital after a cliff jumping incident at Victoria Island near the Portage Bridge on Thursday afternoon.

Paramedics say the man was with friends and was trying to do a front flip off the rocks when he was injured around 3:15 p.m.

Two people held the man against the rocks to make sure his head stayed above the water until emergency crews arrived.

Fire officials say the man was conscious the entire time. Paramedics say he was complaining about pain to his lower back, neck, pelvis and pain going down his right leg.

Gatineau Police are investigating.
