A man has been charged with sexual assault and attempted break and enter after being chased down leaving the home of a woman he had just sexually assaulted.

Ottawa police say a 20-year-old man gained entry to her home by saying he was a door-to-door salesman and then sexually assaulted her inside.

The woman then called police after he left and an officer was able to chase him down and arrest him as he tried to get into another residence to hide.

20-year-old Ulas Ozbay is charged with sexual assault, resisting arrest, attempted break and enter and breach of probation.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
