A 40-year-old man is dead following a fire inside his Braeside home near Arnprior Friday morning.
Firefighters were called to the home on William Meek Drive at about 9:30 a.m.
Inside they found the body of the homeowner neighbours have identified as Dave Rancourt.
Rancourt was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbours say he was a big part of their close-knit community. They say he grew up in the home and was living there by himself.
The incident is being investigated.
