A man is dead and a woman is in Gatineau Hospital with serious injuries following an attempted murder-suicide at 40 Gentilly Street, police say.
Police responded to a call at 4:55 a.m. to the house, west of the Gatineau airport, and say a 43-year-old man was trying to attack a 47-year-old woman with a knife. He then turned the knife on himself.
Both were taken to hospital. The man died at 5:45 a.m., while the woman remains in serious but stable condition.
An investigation is continuing and officers are interviewing a witness.
