A 27-year-old Ottawa man has been charged in relation to three recent bank robberies in the Kanata area.

The charges came after a lone man entered the Scotiabank branch on March Road at 1:53 p.m. Friday, and handed a teller a note demanding money. The man fled in a vehicle but was found later in Stittsville. The bank money was recovered at that time of his arrest.

Police have linked the same man to two other bank robberies that occurred last week in Kanata.

Michael Glezakos is charged with three counts of robbery, uttering threats and breach of undertaking. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 29.

Anyone with information concerning this or other robberies is asked to contact the Ottawa Police at 613 236-1222 ext. 5116.
