A man has been charged with multiple criminal charges after allegedly breaking into a woman's home and sexually assaulting her.
The incident happened at about 2:25 a.m. when a man entered an unlocked home in the 200 block of Patterson Avenue.
The man went into a bedroom and inappropriately touched a woman in her thirties. The woman fought back and the suspect fled the residence.
The man was arrested on nearby Strathcona Avenue after a brief foot pursuit.
Serge Gerald Sabourin, 48, of Gatineau is charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of break and enter and one count of breach of probation.
Sabourin is scheduled to appear in court Saturday.
