Ottawa police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal hit and run that happened in Ottawa’s south end late last month.

On the morning of June 28, 39-year-old Andy Nevin, a father of two, was struck and killed while we was cycling along Leitrim Rd. near Albion Rd.

39-year-old Ottawa resident Deinsberg St-Hilaire appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon to face charges in connection with Nevin’s death.

He was charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.

Ottawa police had been looking for a white Ford Pickup truck with front-end damage following the fatal hit-and-run.

Following news of the arrest, on Facebook, Nevin’s partner Nadia Robinson wrote, “Now we can at least sleep at night knowing this person has been arrested. We still have a lot to overcome and go through, but at least we know.  Some people never get answers, at least there's a bit of comfort that we do.”

Deinsberg St-Hilaire  is due back in court on July 13.
