OTTAWA - Ottawa police say a 44-year-old man is facing charges in connection with three sexual assaults on women in the city since 2001.

It's alleged the first incident involved a 19-year-old woman who was assaulted on April 22, 2001, just before midnight (on Carling Avenue).

The other incidents involved a 26-year-old victim on April 17, 2009, who police say was assaulted at about 2:30 a.m. (on Dalhousie Street) and a 21-year-old they say was assaulted some time after midnight on Aug. 12, 2013, in the Ottawa area (no details on location).

Daniel Marois of Gatineau, Que., is charged with three counts of sexual assault and two counts of uttering death threats.

Investigators say they believe there could be more victims and the investigation is continuing.
