No students or staff were injured after a man at D. Roy Kennedy Public School was arrested for possession of a replica firearm.
Police say the man first pulled the fire alarm at the school located at 919 Woodroffe Avenue.
The school was evacuated as first responders rushed to the school at 10:30 am.
The students are being sent home because of the ongoing police investigation. Students will stay at the evaucation site at a nearby church until parents are contacted.
Ottawa Police have completed a search of the school and have cleared it for safety.
The man in his 50's was sent to hospital for an assessment.
Police say no charges have been laid.
