PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Ont. -- Police say a third person has died after a weekend crash involving a car and several motorcycles in Prince Edward County.

Ontario Provincial Police say the car's driver, 83-year-old Lawrence Harper of Brighton, Ont., died in hospital Wednesday.

Two motorcycle riders were pronounced dead at the scene Saturday after police say Harper's car veered into oncoming traffic and struck three of eight motorcycles travelling together on Loyalist Parkway.

Harper, his passenger and another motorcyclist were taken to hospital with serious to life-threatening injuries.

Police say the investigation continues.
