Conor Whitehead, lead singer of the Ottawa based band Keek hopes he’ll soon be able to quit his job working at a local golf course after his huge success performing at Ottawa’s Bluesfest.

"Pretty stoked. It's awesome cause it's in our hometown, it's a big event with a lot of big artists, a lot of them that we look up to,” said Whitehead when they first her the news of the gig. “We were all calling each other like little school girls excited."

The band got together two-and-a-half years ago. Now they are in the spotlight.

"Getting swarmed at shows for autographs and photos is wild. We are just regular kids, We just play in a band,” he said

Keek is now playing on the same stage as some of the biggest names in music like LMFAO and Iron Maiden.

"It’s just awesome. It seems like the dream is coming true and I’m just really excited for it,” said Whitehead.
