The fate of an Ottawa man convicted of first-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Michael Oatway will be argued in court on Thursday.

The main point of discussion is whether or not he should be tried as a youth or as an adult.

Michael Oatway had his life taken on Sept. 21, 2006 when he was stabbed in the back of an OC Transpo bus. The struggle was reported to be over an iPod.

The man convicted last November cannot be named because he was a minor at the time of the incident.

A judge is expected to deliver the final decision Feb. 6.
