The difficult task of eliminating hot spots is underway for another Ottawa-area brush fire, this time in Carp.
Fire officials said they were called after 12:30 p.m. Sunday to a forest at the end of Holland Hill Road in the west Ottawa community.
Ottawa fire chief John deHooge said crews were “getting the upper hand” over the six to ten-acre fire, tweeting an aerial photo at 3 p.m.
There are currently about five and a half hectares burning half a kilometre from the Hidden Lakes subdivision, where some residents are reporting a loss of water pressure.
