KINGSTON, Ont. - A 28-year-old Kingston man is facing charges after police say a vehicle damaged the playground at an elementary school in the city early Thursday.

A witness called police shortly after midnight about an SUV being driven in circles on the playground of Polson Park Public School (on Robert Wallace Drive).

Officers found a vehicle fitting the description a short distance away, with fresh grass around the wheel wells.

Police say breath samples taken from the driver determined he had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

The man, whose name wasn't released, was charged with mischief over $5,000 and driving with more than the legal amount of alcohol in his blood.
