A 30-year-old Kingston man is in custody after leading police on a chase that ended up on a dead-end street in Lindsay.
The driver ran after crashing into concrete stairs at the end of the street but police dogs found him hiding on the banks of the Scugog River.
The suspect, Douglas Dlouhy, was later transferred to Toronto on an outstanding warrant.
Police have charged the car's owner, 24-year-old Tanya Middlebrook of Lindsay, with making a false stolen vehicle report.
