Kim Fawcett was walking in Kingston with her nine-month-old when she was hit by a vehicle, shattering her leg and killing her child.

The military veteran didn't let this break her spirit – instead, she took her prosthetic leg back to Afghanistan and began competing in triathlons, all the while raising money so children who have lost a leg can keep active with new legs of their own.

CTV's Kimothy Walker tells the story of one woman's inspiring recovery from tragedy.
