Ottawa police have laid numerous charges against a Kanata man after all city police stations were forced to close for hours due to a threat on the afternoon of  Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015.

Police say Jonathon Tully was charged with Public Mischief, Breach of Probation, two counts of False Messages,  three counts of Uttering Threats, and a Common Nuisance.

The charges were laid after police responded to a call on Pickford Drive Tuesday afternoon.

A woman was arrested in the investigation but was later released without charges.

"When we receive such a threat, we have to look at a couple of things," says police spokesperson Cst. Marc Soucy. "Is it credible? If it is, what kind of threat was it and what do we need to to do?"

All stations reopened to the public just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Multiple sources say the incident was not terror-related.
