An Ottawa city councillor who has more than 20 years of community experience is calling her political career quits.
Peggy Feltmate who was elected to represent Kanata South in 2003 says she wants to focus on her family, as well as work in the community as a part-time volunteer.
Feltmate says the birth of her grandson last summer helped influence her decision.
In her seven years on council, Feltmate says her accomplishments include the bus transitway expansion and building new community facilities in Kantata.
