An Ontario judge has called a 20-year-old man convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend's mother and sister a poster child for the death penalty.

Dean Brown was sentenced Friday to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.

He was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of 46-year-old Tracy Hannah and her 13-year-old daughter Whitney.

His ex-girlfriend Shannon Hannah was wounded in the shootings at the Hannahs' Mountainview home, south of Belleville, in March of last year, and Brown was also convicted of attempted murder.

In a statement read outside court in Picton, Ont., the surviving family members said there will never be enough justice for what Brown did to their family.

Crown Attorney Lee Burgess says the family remains concerned that if Brown gets out of jail, he will finish what he started.
