Jeannette Runciman, wife of Bob Runciman, killed after being struck by car
BROCKVILLE, ONT. -- Jeannette Runciman, wife of longtime MPP and former senator Bob Runciman, died Thursday afternoon after being stuck by a vehicle in Brockville.
Jeannette was with her husband in the parking lot of the Brockville General Hospital when the incident took place just after 1 p.m.
A vehicle was backing out of a parking space when it hit her, police confirmed in a news release.
Witnesses and paramedics immediately performed first aid at the scene, and she was rushed to an emergency room where she later died of her injuries.
Brockville Police are asking for witnesses who were in the area to come forward and help with the investigation.
Bob Runciman was first elected as a Member of Provincial Parliament in 1981. He left the Leeds-Grenville riding to join the Senate of Canada in 2010.
