It could be a messy commute this evening in Ottawa
Ottawa is receiving its first dose of winter weather.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Ottawa and Gatineau, along with Prescott and Russell, calling for freezing rain Wednesday evening.
"Periods of freezing rain or freezing drizzle are expected to continue this evening. Several hours of freezing rain are possible before the precipitation changes to rain late this evening or overnight as temperatures rise above zero," said Environment Canada.
A freezing rain warning is also in effect for Renfrew, Pembroke and Barry's Bay.
Environment Canada says periods of rain or drizzle will continue Wednesday evening, and there is a risk of freezing rain. Temperature rising to 10 C by morning.
Thursday will see periods of rain ending in the afternoon then cloudy with a chance of showers. Temperature falling to plus 4 C in the afternoon.
Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud and a high of plus 2 C.
A mix of sun and cloud is in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
