A prisoner at Millhaven Institution near Kingston has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of another inmate.
Twenty-six-year-old Scott Jones was found in the recreation yard at the maximum-security facility with severe head injuries last Thursday and died in hospital three days later.
Jones was serving a five-year manslaughter sentence for sucker-punching a 51-year-old man outside a Kanata bar in 2005. The man later died.
Twenty-one-year-old Roderick McNeil has been charged in Jones' death. He is scheduled to appear in Napanee court July 3.
