A day after two 'suspicious' deaths brought police to a Cambridge Street residence on Saturday, police identified one of the dead as Andrew Ferguson, 33. Few other details are available about him and the woman discovered inside.
Police told media that it is a complex scene and that post-mortems will be completed on Monday. No identity has yet been released for the woman.
Saturday night, nervous neighbours in the area near Bronson Street and Carling Avenue talked about how they used to feel safe in the area considering the number of Carleton University students who rent there.
"It's definitely scary, because this is where you live and you'd never expect something like this to happen, especially so close to home," said Ashley Jones.
One neighbour, who refused to be interviewed on camera, said Ferguson was in fear for his life after having his neck slashed in an attack just a couple of weeks ago.
Ferguson, a construction worker, is said to have lived alone in the building. He was the sole occupant in the three units available there.
Both bodies were discovered around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. If police rule the deaths as homicides, they will be the city's second and third of this year.
