Ontario Provincial Police say one person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash involving two tractor trailers on Highway 416 around 4:10 a.m. Saturday.
According to Ottawa Fire officials, the driver was trapped behind the steering wheel and had to be extricated.
The northbound lanes of Highway 416 are currently closed between Bankfield Road and Fallowfield Road
Detours are in place.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call OPP at 613-270-9171.
