Home Depot is considering an outright ban on allowing pets in its stores, with the exception of service animals, after a female employee had the tip of her nose bitten off by a Shih-Tzu.

Anne Riel, 40, was greeting customers at the Home Depot store on Cyrville Road when she welcomed a woman and her dog into the store.

When Riel bent down to pet the dog, it jumped up and bit off the tip of her nose.

Riel, who is back at work, has already undergone some plastic surgery and will need to have more.

She wants the dog put down and is considering legal action.

Meanwhile, the dog owner has been fined $610 and the dog must now be muzzled.
