Two people are under arrest after a gang-related search warrant was executed in east Ottawa Friday night.
The Ottawa police’s Guns and Gangs unit said they seized a gun and ammunition in the 200 block of Park Street in Vanier around 11:15 p.m.
They arrested two people and say the investigation is ongoing.
The operation comes in a week where police said they’re concerned about a rise in the number of daytime, gang-related shootings in the city.
"With the gun stuff that's going on all over the city it doesn't surprise me at all," said neighbour Randy Schleyer. "Pockets of gangs here, shady characters."
