A massive new sports bar is coming to Ottawa's Byward Market. The venue, which will be located at 90 George St. in a condo complex, will feature the city's largest HD screen at 25-feet high.

It will also have 2 patios, 419 seats, 99 HD televisions, and nearly 100 beers to choose from. Some booths will even have their own beer taps.

The bar is an extension of the popular Real Sports Bar & Grill in Toronto.

"We really identified Ottawa as being a premier sports town, and that's really a prerequisite for us, "said the Real Sports Bar & Grill's Carlos Bohem.

The bar is owned by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. This will be the first one the company is launching outside of Toronto, and its expected to cater to plenty of Senators' fans.

"I look forward to having it down here and having a cold bevy and checking it out," said one Ottawa resident.

Others aren't sold on the idea of a massive sports bar in the centre of the market area.

"There's a lot of bars in the market already and I'm not sure if a bar this gigantic is a good idea, " said another resident.

Terry Guilbault owns the space being rented for the bar. He thinks it's a perfect fit for Ottawa, and that it won't create rowdiness in the Market area.

"I think it will be a happening place where family and corporate can use it but its not a night club and its not going to have those types of activities," Guilbault said.

The new bar is expected to open later this fall.
