A 66-year-old woman from Gatineau died Friday after her vehicle was struck by a car in Cantley, Que. just after 8:30 p.m.

Police say she was alone in her car attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 307 when a northbound Ford Ranger slammed into it.

"She was hit directly in her door," said Sgt. Dominic Gallant of MRC des Collines-de-L'Outaouais.

She was rushed to the Hull hospital where she died.

Roads were closed for six hours while investigators scoured the scene.

Police say the 46-year-old driver of the Ford Ranger suffered minor injuries, and that the investigation is ongoing.
