The City of Gatineau posted a $10.7-million budget surplus in 2008, buoyed by higher building fees, real estate taxes, and permit revenues.
Mayor Marc Bureau said the numbers confirm that Gatineau remains in a boom cycle.
The surplus will be set aside in reserves.
