Police are linking a Gatineau man with more than 80 break-and-enters across western Quebec since 1998.

MRC des Collines spokesperson Martin Fournel said 42-year-old Yves Laframboise of Gatineau was arrested after a break-and-enter in Cantley in November.

He then revealed 54 other Outaouais residences he'd visited since 1998 in the Pontiac, Chelsea, Cantley, La Peche and Val-des-Monts.

Gatineau police have also linked more than 30 of their break-and-enter files to Laframboise.

Fournel said their investigation is ongoing and Laframboise has been detained since his arrest, with a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 25.
