Gatineau police charged Patrick Dussault, 38, of Gatineau with 2nd degree murder and arson today.

Diane Lahaie, 64, was killed with a sharp object and her Gatineau home set ablaze July 27th.

Her car, a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire, was missing and was later found in a commercial parking lot.

Gatineau police say Dussault had been hired by Lahaie to do some renovations on her home.

Dussault was arrested shortly after 2pm on Wednesday at his home on rue Trottier in Gatineau.

Gatineau police would not release details, but say Dussault has a criminal record.

CTV’s Natalie Pierosara will have more on this story tonight at six.
