An eastern Ontario teen killed in a horrific crash near Vankleek Hill, east of Ottawa, will be laid to rest on Sunday.

Garett Allen, 18, died alongside his girlfriend Naomi Theoret, 17, when their pickup truck crashed into a parked tractor trailer in Nation Township.

The two were driving on Concession Road 2 near County Road 10 when their truck rammed into the big rig.

Earlier this week, police said there weren't any flares or cones set up to warn motorists the semi was blocking the road ahead.

Allen is remembered as someone who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His girlfriend will be equally missed.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Allen. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Knox Presbyterian Church in Vankleek Hill.

In lieu of flowers, Allen's family is asking donations be made for a soccer field in town.
