A former Ottawa teacher is charged with a historic sexual assault that dates back to the 1960s.
Michael Grant Slater, 70, of Renfrew, was a teacher at Elizabeth Park Intermediate School. He is charged with one count of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency.
The charges date back to allegations involving a 13-year-old student between 1968 and 1969.
The complaint against Slater was filed in summer 2009. He was arrested on Wednesday.
