One of the most powerful public servants of the 20th century has passed away.

Former Clerk of the Privy Council Gordon Robertson died Tuesday in Ottawa. 

Robertson was a Rhodes Scholar, and youngest-ever Commissioner of the Northwest Territories.  He went on to serve in the most seniors roles for every Prime Minster from William Lyon Mackenzie King to Joe Clark.  

He was a key advisor on Constitutional Reform and Federal - Provincial relations. 

Funeral arrangments are not yet finalized.

Gordon Robertson was 95.
