NAPANEE, Ont. - A former Ontario Hockey League player has been sentenced to two years in prison for a string of break and enters.

Thirty-one-year-old Lucas Nehrling pleaded guilty in Provincial Court in Napanee, Ont.

The Campbellford, Ont.-area man admitted to residential break and enter and other charges in Quinte West, Prince Edward County, and the Napanee and Peterborough areas dating back to September 2009.

Nehrling played junior hockey for Sarnia, Kingston and Guelph in the late 1990s, and had a brief minor-professional career after that.

Nehrling still faces break and enter and robbery charges from an incident in North Bay, Ont., on Dec. 29.
