Nortel's former CEO Mike Zafirovski has joined the long list of creditors waiting for compensation from the former telecommunications giant.
Zafirovski, who led Nortel into bankruptcy, has filed a claim for at least $12 million.
Like many other Nortel employees, Zafirovski didn't receive any severance pay when he resigned two months ago.
The former CEO is now asking for two years of his base salary. He also claims that he's owed $3.8 million in bonus payments and at least $6 million in pension money, as well as other costs yet to be determined.
Zafirovski was head of Nortel when executives at the cash-strapped company decided not to pay severance to employees.
At the time, Zafirovski said severance pay would put the company at risk of survival, adding that he didn't think creditors would allow such payments to be made.
Zafirovski resigned in August, four years after promising to turn Nortel Networks around.
