A former CFL quarterback charged with assault and uttering threats will remain behind bars in Ottawa until a bail hearing next week.
Cody Ledbetter, 36, turned himself into Ottawa police Wednesday after police launched a manhunt for him after a domestic dispute last weekend.
Ledbetter who was a backup quarterback for the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Edmonton Eskimos is also wanted in Texas.
Ledbetter took a job as a high school football coach in Texas after retiring from the CFL in 2002. He pleaded guilty in 2005 to having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.
His probation conditions require him to stay in Texas. It wasn't until the domestic disturbance call on July 31 that police realized Ledbetter was in Ottawa.
