An Ottawa family is homeless after flames ripped through their Kanata house on Friday night, leaving behind $600,000 in damage. The cause is still under investigation.
As many as 80 firefighters battled the blaze at 81 Stokes Crescent near Castlefrank in Kanata.
The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m., and officials said it started on the ground floor and spread quickly through the entire floor.
Adjacent townhouses received minor damage, but no injuries were reported.
