A home in North Gower has been destroyed by an early morning fire.
Ottawa Fire crews were called to 2365 Callendor Road around 3 Tuesday morning.
Eight people, including six children, were living in the home and are now staying with family.
Emergency crews were able to enter the home and begin to fight the fire that appeared to have started in the garage. The fire then spread to the inside of the home and then into the attic. At this point, the structure became unstable and crews were pulled out to fight the fire from the outside.
The fire was brought under control around 7:45am.
The home is expected to be a total loss with damages estimated at $400 thousand, Two vehicles were also destroyed by the fire.
The cause is still under investigation.
