Ottawa fire fighters battled a blaze Sunday afternoon at 750 Gladstone Ave. that left estimated damages between $150,000 and $200,000.

There were no reported injuries at the commercial building that houses a restaurant. The cause remains under investigation, but the fire started on the second floor and spread to the wall and ceiling.

The street was briefly closed between Arthur and Cambridge.

A separate afternoon fire closed Rideau Street between Augusta and Charlotte streets.

The second floor of a building on the 500 block caught fire just before 6 p.m.

Damage is estimated at $50,000. The fire was not considered suspicious.
