A stretch of Bank Street in Ottawa's Glebe neighbourhood was briefly closed Monday morning after fire struck a popular Indian restaurant.
Smoke filled the duct work at the Light of India Restaurant, at 730 Bank St., at about 11 a.m. About 30 firefighters were called to the scene and managed to contain the blaze to the building's ventilation system.
No damage estimate has been released.
The fire shut down Bank Street between First and Second avenues for about 30 minutes.
