Principessa Gavia Gavi Vigne Regali 2013

Piedmont D.O.C., Italy

Pure lemon sunshine in this zesty Italian white wine from Vigne Regali (Gavi)! Clean, crisp and refreshing with terrific mouth-watering acidity for seafood and salads. Medium-bodied layers of pleasure in this DOCG wine. This would also be a great aperitif. Finishes crisply with notes of chives and lemon.

Freemark Abbey Chardonnay 2013

Napa Valley, California, United States

Full-throttle Californian Chardonnay from the heart of Napa Valley. This is such a well-known (and respected) winery. Aromas of toasty oak, pear and smoke. There's no secondary (malolactic) fermentation to preserve the fresh acidity which is nicely balancing. Primary fermentation took place in a combination of stainless steel and French oak barrels to lend creaminess. Only about 15% new French oak, the rest is second use to not add too much oak flavour.

Katnook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Coonawarra, South Australia

Full-bodied Australian red wine with classic Cabernet aromas of cassis, blackcurrant and blackberry. Surprisingly elegant for a New World cab. Like it lots! This wine is aged for 22 months in French and American oak and offers a toasty finish. Nicely balanced oak with the fruit and character of the wine. Pair with brisket. Highly recommended.

Château Blaignan 2010

Médoc, Bordeaux A.C., France

Lots of attractive toasty oak and smoke on the nose of this robust, rustic red wine. This Cabernet blend from Bordeaux is well-priced. It gets a bit thinner on the palate than the nose would lead you to believe but is nonetheless good value.
