A father and son have been charged with sexual assault for incidents that occurred to a young female in the Hawkesbury area between 2002 and 2005.

Ontario Provincial Police say they arrested and charged 62-year-old Leo Lalonde for five counts of sexual interference and five counts of sexual assault on May 21. He has since been conditionally released.

Thirty-seven-year-old Roch Lalonde, meanwhile, was arrested on a warrant by members of the RCMP in Surrey, B.C. on June 23.

Following his arrest, OPP officers travelled to Surrey and returned Roch Lalonde to Ontario to face four counts of invitation to sexual touching, five counts of sexual interference and five counts of sexual assault.

Both men have appeared in L'Orignal court.
