Via Rail has confirmed a fatality on its railway tracks east of Ottawa.
The collision involved an Ottawa-bound passenger train from Montreal. None of the passengers onboard were injured.
At 6 p.m., no information was available about the victim who was struck just outside Casselman late Wednesday afternoon.
Buses were sent to the scene to bring Via Rail passengers to Ottawa to complete their trip.
Police are investigating.
