A 34-year-old Tay Valley Township woman was killed in a collision with a tractor trailer on Highway 7 just west of Carleton Place on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2014.
OPP say Melanie Watson was the driver of a 2003 Taurus which struck a tractor trailer in the westbound lane. Police say there was drifting snow at the time and it appears Watson lost control as her vehicle collided with the truck.
That portion of Highway 7 was closed for at least 10 hours while police investigated the crash.
