The family of a west-Ottawa woman who was sexually assaulted and beaten to death is planning a vigil to mark the grim one-year anniversary since her death.

The half-naked body of Pamela Kosmack, 39, was found near a bike path in the Britannia area on June 4, 2008. At the time of her death, Kosmack was seeking help for a drug addiction.

Police are still asking for the public's help to identify the owner of a pair of brown-framed Foster Grant reading glasses that were found at the scene.

Police say the owner of the glasses is a person of interest.

A vigil to honour the slain mother of two will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Family and friends plan to meet at the corner of Richmond Road and Poulin Avenue before walking to the same path where Kosmack's body was found by a woman walking her dog last year.

Anyone with information about Kosmack's death is asked to contact Ottawa police at 613-236-1222 ext. 5477 or Crime Stoppers 613-233-TIPS.
