The heaviest users of OC Transpo say bus route changes will have a big effect on their families.

The last of five public consultations on the cuts was held Tuesday night in Orleans, the area with the highest ridership.

Those at the meeting said losing their bus would make getting their family around more inconvenient.

"As a result of this change there's no longer a bus that goes in front of my kid's school, so myself and everyone else who has kids at that school has to take their car," said Philippe Dufresne, who currently walks his kids to school then takes the bus.

Cancer patient Lori Anne Page says she relies on the bus since she can't drive because of seizures.

"Trying to get to work or back to school will be a concern," she said. "I don't want my mom chauffeuring me every day."

The transit commission will vote on the changes April 20.
