The Shouldice Farm in Richmond is a busy spot at 5 am these hot July mornings.

Staff are busy picking sweet corn which is now ready for the kitchen table.

The rain and moisture in June and the hot scorching weather in July has produced a bumper crop of sweet corn.

The sweet corn is for sale at Shouldice food stands throughout the capital.

Larry Shouldice says the hot weather has also extended the strawberry picking season.

Shouldice says a few people are braving the 40 degree humidex temperatures to pick fresh strawberries.

Rasberries are still available but in short supply.
