A man who left Kingston's minimum-security Frontenac Institution on Thursday morning was caught at an Ottawa residence Saturday, and will now stay at the higher-security Bath Institution.

Ottawa police and the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Unit (ROPE) arrested the 38-year-old around 6:45 p.m. without incident, police say.

Rice was brought to the Bath Institution Saturday night. He was convicted of several bank robberies in and around Ottawa in 2004, including one in Brockville where he and an accomplice made away with $125,000 worth of jewellery.

Rice is the third prisoner to escape from Frontenac. Andrew Wood is still at large after disappearing in June, while Kevin McBain was caught five days after escaping in July.
