Officials in McNab/Braeside Township are advising residents that a localized state of emergency remains in effect until further notice.

Heavy rain caused severe flooding and landslides in the area, destroying roads and forcing some homes to be evacuated over the weekend.

Town officials said Tuesday that erosion continues to be a threat in many areas. All unstable sites are now being fenced off.

People are not permitted to be anywhere within 20 feet of those sites without prior approval from engineers monitoring the situation.

A drinking water advisory remains in place for people who live in areas affected by the flooding.
